One Day Car Insurance Cover

Dora Said:

Question about buying a new car or fixing an old one?

We Answered:

I like your Mom's idea, especially if you can fix your car well enough to last another 6 months until you leave town. Who wants to buy a new car and then leave town (you would be making payments on a car you aren't driving). Treat yourself to a new car when you get back.

Micheal Said:

Does my car insurance cover it or will I have to pay out of my pocket?

We Answered:

if you have "comprehensive" coverage then you are covered, that covers fire, theft and vandalism. however, you will have to pay the $1000 deductible out of your pocket, which if it costs $3000, isn't bad, you only have to pay a third. you may want to weigh the odds of placing a claim though, it can make your rates go up and may end up actually costing you more in the long run rather than paying for all the damage out of pocket. talk to your insurance agent/claim representative, they will explain everything to you. good luck!

Car insurance Claim - Overlapped insurance cover?

We Answered:

You cannot insure the same risk twice and if thatis the case then they do not have to allow your claim -you thus do not have a choice and were not insured at all.

Life cover is Assurance not Insurance and there is no limit to insurablity between spouses or for anyone insuring themselves. Anyone else must have a quantifiable loss occuring on death to be able to insure someone elses life. The number of policies used to do that is not relevent

Bessie Said:

Is the new car covered for 30 days under the old insurance policy?

We Answered:

Need to check with your agent to be sure. Most companies it is but I'd make sure rather than take a chance. Plus if the new one needs full coverage, because of financing, it won't have it until she gets it which could be a violation of the finance agreement.

Joanne Said:

Is someone not on my Car Insurance covered if driving my car?

We Answered:

She is covered while temporarily driving the car with your permission. Insurance follows the vehicle, so loaning your car out essentially means you're loaning the insurance policy out. There are clauses that exclude coverage if the person has regular access to the vehicle or it's for some extended period of time, but your mom will be fine to borrow the vehicle for a few days.
