Try Direct Line. They give a discount if you have 2 cars insured with them so it's worth a try

Motorbike insurance after buying?

We Answered:

No it will not. The seller's interest in the motorcycle ceases once it is sold. The correct procedure would be to collect all the paperwork, have someone drive you to an insurance brokers/agents office, obtain insurance, obtain a plate/permit, have someone drive you back, put the new plates on the motorcycle, ride off into the sunset.

Does third party fire and theft motorbike insurance cover me for attempted theft damage?

autoinsurance.noneto.com - try this one. I have their car insurance and, as I know, they can provide such a service.

Motorbike and insurance Question?

We Answered:

Third party cover is the minimum legal requirement for insurance as it covers any 3rd party that you may cause damage or injury to. So any insured vehicle has a minimum of 3rd party cover. Therefore, anyone who is found to be liable for an accident would have to pay for the damage to your vehicle. If you cause an accident and only have 3rd party cover, then it is only the 3rd party that gets a repair under your policy.

Sandra Said:

Where can I get insurance that will cover me for riding a motorbike when travelling overseas (Asia)?

We Answered:

Many British insurance policies will cover any injury you suffer as a result of falling off your bike - providing that you have a licence to drive such a bike - if you don't have a licence then they won't cover you as they have no evidence that you are competent to ride said vehicle.

With regards to liability to other road users, this will not be available in the UK and you will almost certainly have to buy an appropriate policy over there.

Violet Said:

Do you really have to be 100% honest with your motorbike insurance company ?

We Answered:

I will add one more point to this discussion.
Keep every receipt for anything you add to your motorcycle and for all your riding gear.
I can't stress this enough. I went down last year after hitting a dog. When Progressive came out to document the damage to the motorcycle, they also documented the damage to the riding gear.
"Do you have any receipts?" I was asked.
"Why, yes I do."
Made things a lot easier from an claims standpoint.
I see nothing wrong with contacting your insurance agent, when you add accessories to your motorcycle. On big bikes, it is easy to go beyond the accessories coverage of your insurance policy.
You will be thankful if the unfortunate occurs and you go down and your insurance policy is in order.
Good Luck
