Listen, they aren't going to write for you directly! You can't call them and say, hey, give me a quote!!

You HAVE to go through an agent. Call a local agent - or five - and ask them to get you some quotes. If you don't have an agent, call a competitor, ask to talk to their risk manager, and ask who THEIR agent is, and start there.

Not all companies write in all states. Who has the best deal for private schools in IL? I DON"T KNOW. But I do know that the companies that do private schools - like Zurich - won't write directly. Only through their agents.

There is no "black list", however, insurance people are huge on networking. If she's hard to work with, or creates problems (multiple lawsuits? Sounds like both, maybe??) when hiring, you always go to "the grapevine" and ask, hey, have you worked with Sarah Smith? What's she like?? Oh, she doesn't dress professional? Takes lots of time off? Won't pitch in when things get tough? Won't work overtime when needed? Is hypersensitive or has a chip on her shoulder about (insert civil lawsuit issues here)? Thanks for the info!!!

No, because not all companies offer insurance in all states, and many do not offer coverage out of hte country.

If you're looking for a particular state, you can go to that state insurance department's website, and they usually have posted the companies licensed to do business in that state.

Keep in mind, however, that some companies who are NOT licensed to do business in that state, will still write coverage for houses (not a true homeowners package policy), so it's not all inclusive.

If you wish to put in the 150 hours or so of work it's going to take to compile the list, and post it on the internet for free, feel free to do so.
