Jebbie - yes you should not come to China without US coverage, or at least some type of international coverage that will cover you in the STATES, you must make sure 100% that the insurance will cover you not only in China but the States as well, another thing is that you must make sure you are covered for medical evac., to be lifted out of Asia for medical reason will cost an individual $100,000 at least, I am currently on Blue Cross Blue Shield but it is very expensive, but if I have to return to the States for medical reason I am covered, forget what the schools offer unless it is an international school who can give you a great package, if you are going to work for a Chinese public school you should get additional coverage to what the school offers, try these out

In the US it depends on the wording of the insurance contract as to who pays first. You should contact both insurance companies and file claims. They will work it out between them as to who pays. If youi dont have auto insurance, your health insurance should pay for your injuries.
