There’s not really such a thing as insurance for pre-existing conditions, but the good news is that it’s much easier to find help these days. Your best chance is to join a group health plan, such as one you get through work. If you were under a group health plan, you should be protected under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in this circumstance. Under HIPPA, you should be able to credit the time you were covered under the old group plan against the waiting period of the new group plan – as long as you haven’t gone more than 63 days without coverage. Call your old health plan and get them to send you your certificate of creditable coverage. You might also want to call the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance (link below).

If you haven’t been treated for your condition, you may not have as much difficulty finding affordable health insurance as you might think. Even if something is wrong, your health problem may not be one of the conditions that they exclude coverage for at the beginning of a health plan.

You might also try support organizations for your condition. Needy Meds (link below) is a clearinghouse for such organizations.

If you can’t find employment with group health insurance, then your best bet is to talk with Pennsylvania-licensed health insurance agents. Talk with more than one because that will give you a better perspective on your choices. It also encourages a little healthy competition for your business. Check out MostChoice.com. You do not want to use a discount card or some other scam that is posing as a real health insurance plan.

Not all health insurance companies handle asthma the same way so be sure and speak with an independent Arkansas health insurance agent that can work with many different companies.

The best bet is to compare quotes from at least 5 different companies and choose the one that will best meet your needs.

Asthma is not necessarily a "guaranteed declineable" type of pre-existing condition like cancer, heart disease or some of the more serious things.

Firstly, all pet insurance in the US requires you to first pay the bill and then submit it to be reimbursed. This allows you to go to any veterinarian of your choice. Also, it saves your veterinarian the extra work of having to contact pet insurance companies and work out the finances. They have enough to do already! :)

While pet insurance can cover a condition that your pet has had before, it does not cover pre-existing conditions. If that were the case, everyone with a sick or hurt pet would sign up and pet insurance would go out of business.
A few examples:
1. Your kitten had some diarrhea when you first got her. You took her to the vet and they figured out the problem and treated it. The diarrhea went away and she is fine. You sign her up for pet insurance. Three years later, your cat gets diarrhea again. Some pet insurance companies will refuse all claims for diarrhea because your cat has had it in the past, but with Trupanion for example, we would cover it since this is a new occurrence that is unrelated to the first one.
2. Your kitten has some diarrhea when you first got her. You quickly find a pet insurance company online and sign her up. In this case, they will not cover the costs of treatment because this condition is pre-existing.

I hope that this makes sense and I encourage you to call customer service for each pet insurance company and explain your situation so that they can help you understand what would and wouldn't be covered.

As I know they can provide coverage with preexisting condition.
