When I called my insurance I talked to 4 people and got 4 different answers.

I live in NY and I have blue cross blue shield and my policy doesn't cover ivf. They do cover 6 IUI cycles however and the meds that go along with it.

I heard of someone that has coverage for 3 ivf cycles but I'm not sure what insurance it is. Most likely its Empire.

NYS does have grants for ivf however and if you are going to an RE than you should ask about it because they have to be a participating provider with the grant program in order for you to get it.

I go to Dr. Kiltz in Syracuse and they participate with the grant program. A patient the other day got a partial grant and only had to come up with $4400 out of pocket. It's still a lot but not compared to the full price of about $11,000. You can also find some info out on the states website. Good luck!

No I went through this too and its not an "optional extra" as the success rate depends upon so many factors.

You could look at NHS funding if your eligible, and buying your meds overseas whic the clinics dont like as they dont get a cut but its cheaper than the UK.
