Health Insurance That Covers Infertility

Nina Said:

Health Insurance in Tennessee that covers Fertility/Infertility???

We Answered:

Unfortunately, insurance companies tend to offer the minimum amount of coverage and in the state of Tennessee, they are not required to offer infertility coverage. You can check the resolve website for more information:

You should also contact Fertility Lifelines - they have a toll-free number that you can call for a free consultation on your current insurance coverage. They also have a lot of great information on finding ways to pay for your treatments:

Best wishes - I hope that it all works out for you!

What is a good health insurance to choose while diagnosed with PCOS?

We Answered:

Most insurance plans don't cover infertility unless required by law. Fifteen states have laws mandating infertility coverage in one form or another - but Florida is not one of those states. You still may be able to find coverage if you or your spouse work for an employer headquartered in one of the mandate states. State insurance laws pertain in the states where the policy is issued, not where the employees live. Check out the laws in the headquarter states of both employers.

Joy Said:

Does anyone know of a Health Plan that covers infertility?

We Answered:

If your employer's plan does not provide the coverage you need, it will be very difficult to find coverage anywhere else. Fifteen states have laws mandating some type of infertility insurance coverage, but Arizona is not one of those states.

You might get lucky if you or your husband's employer is headquartered out of state, and the "situs state" is one that has such a mandate. Otherwise, you may be out of luck. Sorry.
