Full Cover Insurance

Hugh Said:

I wrecked my car, I have full cover insurance. Will I get any money?

We Answered:

You should be covered for the amount of insurance you purchased. Your agent probably asked what you paid for the car and you should receive 'replacement value.'

Evelyn Said:

can you finance a car not having full cover insurance?

We Answered:

The dealer doesn't HAVE to check it - as soon as you lower the coverage, the insurance sends a copy of the lowered coverage to the lender, so they find out right away.

And, btw, they slap their own coverage on the car, and add it to your car payment - at roughly 5X what you pay yourself, AND, it won't ever pay to fix your car.

So, not a good plan. Instead, buy however cheap a car, for the cash you have, and then carry your minimum liability on it.

Ann Said:

What health insurance company can offer non residents full insurance cover in Australia?

We Answered:

Usually you should look for either a broad Travelers Medical Insurance or ExPatriate cover. Both should be provided by offshore insurers (Insurance companies that are situated and operate outside of Australia. Searching Google for expatriate insurance will surely provide you with numerous options. Check the covers they offer, and compare not only the costs but also the deductibles, sums covered and waiting periods.

Glenn Said:

Does my friends full coverage insurance cover me if i have permission to drive her car and i am licensed?

We Answered:

Since you were not in the household when she purchased the policy you would not be named as an excluded driver. If you were not living in her home you would be covered. Since you do live in the household you would have to be added on the policy to be covered. If you used her vehicle and got into an accident State farm would not pay the claim.
