Find Life Insurance Policies

Jill Said:

Do you find the "Suicide Provision" found in life insurance policies ethical ?

We Answered:

No, quite the opposite . . .

The suicide exclusion in the first few years, keeps the INSURED honest. It promotes them being ethical.

But if years later, there's a sudden chemical imbalance that causes mental instability and suicide attempts, that isn't any kind of fraud on the part of the insured life. And should be paid, by the insurer.

Perry Said:

Is there a way to find all a persons life insurance policies after they died?

We Answered:

Try MIB.

Alvin Said:

can you find life insurance policies taken out on you by someone else?

We Answered:

If medical information was reported on the application, it was probably reported to the Medical Information Bureau (MIB). If any information was reported to the MIB, it can give you a report that lists the insurance company(ies) that reported the information. You're entitled to one MIB report on yourself per year at no charge.

If you suspect a particular individual, you should speak with an attorney, who may be able, through the courts, to force that person or persons to tell you. If there was no insurable interest at the time the policy was purchased, this is considered "against the public interest," and you can either have the policy voided or ownership transferred to you.

I hope this helps.

how can i find all life insurance policies for my late brother in las vegas nevada?

We Answered:

if you have access to his personal effects, look for paid insurance premium notices, or the policy(ies) itself(themselves). if you find any paid receipts, dividend check stubs, or correspondence from any insurance companies, you can contact that company or companies and ask for information on making a claim on that policy. typically, each claim form has a section for the beneficiary to fill out regarding the deceased that asks for additional information so that the insurance company can perform a record search in their data for other policies on that deceased person.

if you are not a named beneficiary of the insurance policy(ies) in question, you will not be able to make claim on said policy(ies). But some carriers will at least send you the claim requirements and let you know who is the named beneficiary.

good luck!

Arnold Said:

How can I find out if an old life insurance policy is still in effect?

We Answered:

You need to call the insurance COMPANY, not the agent that issued it, and ask for claim forms, and file a claim.

You cannot "cash in" a policy that you do not own, and the owner's name is written on the top of the policy.

It's EXTREMELY unlikely that the policies are valid. If your parents are deceased, most likely, the claims were filed, or the poliices lapsed YEARS ago. You COULD check through cancelled checks, the policies WOULD have to be paid, at least once a year.

They'd be worth the death benefit listed, IF there was no loan against them, and IF the policies were in force on the date of death of the insured.

Sheila Said:

where can I find life insurance for people with mental disorders?

We Answered:

Insurance companies, particularly life insurance companies, aren't in business for charity, they're in it to make money. People with potentially fatal conditions are not good risks. My question to you, is, why do the insurance companies have to know what's going on with your relative?
