Dental Insurance That Cover Braces

Ida Said:

Might my dental insurance cover getting braces removed?

We Answered:

You will have to pay, there is no free lunch, time costs money, so save up and get the money to have them removed, its as simple as that. The longer you stay in them without being monitored, the more your teeth will be at risk for all sorts of adverse things and that will actually be your own fault.

Frank Said:

UK: Is there any dental insurance that will cover braces?

We Answered:

healthplans.bebto.com - my family have this health insurance. It is affordable and has good coverage for dental issues.

Gregory Said:

Will dental insurance cover invisible braces?

We Answered:

I would contact the insurance office. They might cover you. Especially since having crooked teeth can lead to decay and consistent dental problems. My lower teeth were so close that i couldnt even fit floss between them and they were chipping. I wasnt covered but I never had dental insurance. Make a case for yourself that the placement of your teeth is impacting proper oral hygiene. I dont know how bad your teeth are but its worth a shot. Maybe they will pay a portion of it. Good luck and happy brushing!!

Does anyone know of any dental insurance programs that cover braces?

We Answered:

First, you should understand the concept of "dental insurance".

Companies sell policies and collect premiums from a number of individuals in a group. The company is profitable only if more people pay in than use up in benefits.

If you, as an individual, buy an insurance plan for ortho coverage, it's for sure you will use it and it would make no financial sense for the company to pay out benefits.

Bottom line: you just can't pay less for benefits than a company would pay out.

Good news is, most orthodontists take payments. You'll need a substantial amount as a down payment, but the balance can be paid out over the course of treatment. Look for ads in your local paper or phone book. Payment in full could net you a substantial discount if you have a cheap source of credit. Many orthodontic offices use credit agencies such as Care Credit or Denal Fee Plan to help their payments get the treatment they need.

Tracy Said:

My dental insurance wont cover braces...need to find a discount plan?

We Answered:

Discount dental plans are a joke.

Orthodontists have fixed costs - brackets and wires are expensive. So is the cost of additional training necessary to move teeth. Why would a specialist provide services for a fraction of what they normally charge? What will they do for full-paying patients that they won't do for a discount patient?

Ask about payment plans, cash discounts, etc. Stay away from multi-level schemes such as Ameriplan.
