Dental Insurance Covers Implants

Jeffrey Said:

what insurance covers dental implants?

We Answered:

I worked for a doctor who specialized in the dental implants. I was in charge of filing the insurance papers and getting the payment for the patients. Unfortunately, most plans did not cover the implants at all. Only the best, most expensive plans covered a part of the implant.

I can tell you that implants are the best way to go to replace a missing tooth, so if you can do it at all, go for it! You wont regret it. Just make sure you find someone who is highly regarded in this procedure. A lot of general dentists are trying to do them and they arent working out as well.

Are dental implants covered by any insurance?

We Answered:

Hi
Insurance for dental implants is a "tricky" topic in more ways than one with many advertisers using this term to get your attention – but the truth is much more complicated.

Although dental implants are now common practice and are used in many cases, insurance companies categorize them as cosmetic dentistry. Most insurance policies don't cover cosmetic dentistry and dental implants specifically.

Dental insurance plans vary in their coverage. Most, if not all of them, offer routine maintenance, basic care and emergencies. After researching the subject and looking around for a plan that would cover a significant portion of the bill – I can confidently tell you that http://www.dental-implants-guide.com/ins…

My father needs dental implants but insurance doesn't cover it. What to do?

We Answered:

Most insurance companies do not cover dental implants. However, most insurance companies will help you pay for crowns and bridges or dentures.
If your father does not have any dental insurance, a social worker could be of help. He/she will be able to connect him with various community supports and resources. For example, a free dental clinic.
The social worker will also be aware of government policies and programs that may be of use to your father.

Leo Said:

does insurance cover dental implants? And how much do they normally cost?

We Answered:

Since your Aetna probably does not cover dental implants you
may want to add a supplemental plan that does. I suggest the
eHealthPlus membership. Be sure your dentist is on both
networks for maximum benefit. Search by zip code.

Heidi Said:

Is there any dental insurance that covers implants in the U.S.?

We Answered:

There are some dental insurance that covers implants. Metlife will cover implants up to $1100.00 per year so they cover about 65% of the cost.
I'm sure all employer dental plans would cover implants but most companies don't want to include that coverage. They would rather provide preventative care and minor work like crowns, bridges, etc.

From your question it sounds like you're trying to find a supplemental plan to cover implants. They probably don't exist or if they do they're probably expensive and don't cover the full amount.

From what you describe of your problem the bridge could probably be fixed by having the bad tooth replaced with an implant post to secure the bridge. It may require another post on the opposite side.
You should look for a dentist who will fix what you have and will accept the fact that you don't have a lot of money.
See if you can find a dental referral service in your area and talk to them. They may be able to point you to a dentist who specializes in that type of work.
Good Luck.

Geraldine Said:

is there a dental insurance in washington that covers implants of all your teeth?

We Answered:

Many employer sponsored dental plans cover implants. I had two - Aetna and Metlife. It depends if your employer includes it in the coverage.
Some do, most don't. They would rather cover preventive care and minor
procedures like cavities, crowns, bridges, etc.
As far as covering all teeth - no exception is made to any one tooth but since most employer provided insurance caps care at 1,000 - 1,500 per year (barely covers one) it would take you many decades to have an insurance policy cover full replacement of teeth with implants.
