So far, it appears the Congress is proposing a Plan that will cost $63,000 per uninsured American over ten years. That's $525 per monh per individual. This figure is thrown out representing 49 million uninsured Americans, so assumingly it addresses individuals and not family units. This is unrealistic, as if the costs are not for coverage, but actual expenditures for health services. Does anyone know what they're talking about, and how the 1.6 trillion to 3 trillion dollar figure is derived. Seems we would be better served to keep Medicaid in place with funding to the States to keep the system in place that exists. Needless to say, I can't answer your question.

Most insurance companies have waived their 'pre-existing condition' because of how often people change jobs. This person might qualify for state aid or if their doctor claims them disabled, they can get disability if they qualify, after a 12 month waiting period.

A deductible is something you have to put out first before benefits are paid so lets say your dental deductilbe is 50.00, you would have to pay 50.00 out of pocket before they will reimburse your other claims. Normally TMJ is considered a medical expense even though it has to do with your mouth, its expense are paid out through the medical side, so maybe what they're saying is you can apply your medical deductible towards this, so if you have to pay a 50.00 deductible for medical, and you've already paid that and have claims reimbursed under medical for the TMJ they wont ding you for the deductible under the dental for anything relating to the TMJ, best thing is to call a Metlife rep and find out for sure

Insurance doesn't cover VOLUNTARY procedures - and it's highly unlikely that your deviated septum requires surgery for a medical reason.

Well you'll have a problem in that you likely have a deductible on your comprehensive coverage (which covers claims arising from stolen vehicles). In most cases, its several hundred dollars so even if you did file your claim, if it was for only $160, if it was within your deductible, then you won't get anything anyway.

Plus, in my state, the law is such that if you've left your keys in the car, they can't charge the thief with auto theft, so here you car wasn't technically stolen, just borrowed without your permisssion....and then the insurance wouldn't pay anyway.

Well, LOTS of insurances will do this - but they're not going to give you a policy for less than the known costs, PLUS some extra, for the unknown costs.

And frankly, in MI, you're not going to find private insurance willing to cover a type 1 diabetic, AT ALL, until 2014. And THEN, the price will be sky high.

Your best bet, is going to be getting a real job, with health insurance through your employer. You can't afford the luxury of being a full time college student, unless your spouse is willing/able to support you.
