Turning 21, need some advice on things like health insurance, it is all so confusing!?

We Answered:

We have a plan through Blue Cross Care First, very affordable, low deductible and copays. Try looking at their website and building a plan for yourself. Think of what you would be able to afford to pay out of pocket such as copay for a doctor visit, 10,20,30, then for precriptions, 100,150,200 deductible then after you have met this amount they become 10,15,20. Also you can add special coverage such as dental and vision. Just take your time and pick the amounts that work for your budget.

How do people live in the USA if their paid minimum wage & have no health care plan? Are living standards low?

We Answered:

Well maybe your cost of living is a lot higher than it is here in the US?

How is the availability and quality of the medical insurance in Canada ?

We Answered:

Here in Canada we have universal health care. I love it.
I can go see the doctor without paying a cent!
I could go everyday if I needed to!
The only downfall I find, is that you must be referred by a regular doctor before you can see a specialist.

Prescriptions are not covered by our universal healthcare (we call it OHIP).

y income tax in australia r so high compared to singapore?

We Answered:

The tax deduction you pay to the Australian government includes Medicare (medical benefit for public hospitals) although this will be itemised separately on your notice of assessment. Your tax payable can also include components such as HECS/HELP which are the contribution charges toward tertiary education if applicable.

Superannuation is a separate amount payable by your employer to your superannuation fund. Depending on the fund's rules, you may be required to also contribute or it may be optional.

Your taxes also fund Centrelink payments that include such things as aged pensions (payable if you superannuation is under a certain level), family tax benefit for any children you may have, and other benefits also. And of course it also funds infrastructure (schools, hospitals, roads etc - for example the size of Australia compared to Singapore there are a lot more roads to fund distance-wise).

If you REALLY want more information and you are having trouble sleeping one night, I suggest you download a copy of the last Federal Budget and look to see what else is funded.

How many quotation for car repairs?

We Answered:

Of course they're going choose their own authorized repairer or someone they trust. The insurance companies need to keep a good reputation and not just have repairs done at places based on cheapest price. It's your own fault for not having insurance and causing the accident.
