If a car audio system is stolen will regular car insurance cover it?

We Answered:

You need to have it added to your insurance. They are only going to cover the system that came with your car unless you add an amendment. They also may request you have an alarm system put on.

James Said:

late car insurance payment?

We Answered:

You probably don't have to worry if you were only a few days late. They won't cancel/suspend your insurance policy without sending you a warning letter beforehand. They may charge you a small fee for sending in your payment late. Your check probably hasn't cleared yet because it may take 2-3 days to arrive at the payment center and then another 2-3 to clear.

I receive a monthly car allowance from my employer, how do I handle the taxes?

We Answered:

Your employer will combine the amount of the allowance paid to you under a non-accountable plan with your wages, salary, or other pay. Your employer will report the total in box 1 of your Form W-2.

If you want to claim the expenses, you must complete Form 2106 or 2106-EZ and itemize your deductions to deduct your expenses for travel, transportation, meals, or entertainment. Your meal and entertainment expenses will be subject to the 50% limit. Also, your total expenses will be subject to the 2%-of-adjusted-gross-income limit that applies to most miscellaneous itemized deductions.

Will my car insurance monthly payments increase AFTER i rent a vehicle (READ BELOW)?

We Answered:

Insurance follows the car. In this case, you rented a truck from Enterprise to move furniture which most likely could not do in "your personal car". So all the coverage you have on your own auto policy transfer to the rental vehicle. If there had been an accident, your policy would pay for other property damages. If damage to the truck and you have collision/comprehensive, it would pay also.

For the increase of premium, most likely has nothing to do with renting a truck for moving. Call your insurance company and inquire why the increased rates. Could be that your policy renewed, so premium went up. Either way, unless you had an accident or damages to the rental, which I did not see that you had, it should not matter.

good luck

Your age and car insurance rate?

We Answered:

I'm 45. I don't buy it by the month.

For an 18 year old, straight liability coverage here in Houston, would cost around $3,000 a year for a boy, or $2200 for a girl. If you get a car with a LOAN on it, it will be more than double that.

So no, a part time job isn't going to support a car.
