You could try US Fidelis or other vehicle sevice contract companies. Most of them have a 60 day period before you can make a claim. This prevents people from buying the insurance when the repair already has to be made.I have this coverage on 1 of my vehicles (a 1998) that I purchased a few months ago, it seems to be pretty good coverage and I can pick the shop that I want to do the work.

The policy I have with USFidelis covers just about everything bumper to bumper with a $50 deductible. If my car needs a new engine or transmission, it costs me $50, they pay the rest. It also covers a rental car while mine is in the shop.
