Wait until you get to Thailand to change your money over to Thai baht to get the best rate. If you are flying into Bangkok and immediately flying out again make sure you have sufficient time between flights. If you fly into Bangkok you can change some money there too! Lots of cheap internet shops available in Thailand for sending/receiving emails.

These two travel forums will have lots of helpful hints on Thailand in general and Phuket in particular. Read up on transportation and currency in Phuket on the TripAdvisor Forum, helpful hints. If you need hotel recommendations mention a price range.

Pet Plan covered for life budget plan, offers fairly comprehensive cover for a reasonable price. Pet Plan settle claims quickly, you can submit a claim for approval to ensure it will be covered & claim direct for more expensive procedures.

Pet Plan value is another option, but has less benefits & the dog would not be covered for life.

The one I am totally recommending at the moment is

Animal Friends. They do a good range of policies but do make sure you take out one of the upper ones that covers for life. Never take out one that covers a condition for one year only.

Avoid --- like the plague ---- E & L. Horror stories abound with them, and many vets will not recognise them as they fail to get their money too often.

I am with Tesco but will be changing to Animal Friends soon.
