It's a very difficult area Financial Advice in Spain. Having been ripped off before, we're extra cautious about dealing with any firms in Spain. The Spanish are trying to clean things up, but remember it's expat selling to expats, so it's not their first priority.

My advice would be to look for a firm in the UK, or with connections in the UK, so at least you know what you're dealing with. The Spanish registered firms are usually registered offshore for one reason. To avoid regulation, and allow them to charge fees that make them very rich and the client very poor, with no recourse for the customer.

There is a website which is independent of advisors, and is for the consumer, created by consumers. It gives the real deal on the coast, and isn't afraid to highlight the ripp-off salesmen.

Do you buy the car insurance policy first, then say, ok, what kind of car can I have that this policy will cover? No! That's SILLY! So is buying a life product based on "the product" without defining your needs, first.
