Holiday insurance for trip to South Africa?? (From UK)?

We Answered:

Nearly all of SA is Malaria free. Unless you are going to the KNP or near one of our borders then you should be fine. As far as Malaria goes. Be careful because the Malaria Tablets can be very harmful particularly to your mental health. It can also mask tests for Malaria in future which can make it harder to get a correct diagnosis.
I hope you enjoy your trip back memory lane with B I hope :)

Travel Insurance - UK to SA?

We Answered:

Travel insurance is ALWAYS a good idea to take, because you never know what could happen. Try TravelSafe.com. I always use this company when booking my clients because it also has a Cancel Any Time inclusion that guarantees your money back if you have to cancel before the trip for any reason. It's totally worth the extra little bit of money, especially if you get all of your money back should something happen.

Travel Insurance - UK to SA?

Try a company called Direct Travel. If you google them you should get them no probs. They have good coverage and reasonable rates. One thing you will have to Check though is the single article limit on any policy you decide to buy. Dependant on the cost of your camera you made find on the whole travel insurance is inadequate for covering it. Most policies will have a single article limit of £300 or a photographic equipment limit of £100 etc. Check these limits before buying. To ensure coverage for the camera you may find the best way is to contact your home contents provider and have the camera added as a personal possesion covered away from the home, also check with them that they cover you world wide under that for 30 days (normally pretty standard in most home insurance policies however adding it may cost a little extra on your home insurance

ash cloud and insurance?

We Answered:

You need to check the insurance carefully. Most travel insurance won't cover natural disaster such as Volcano's, or Hurricanes or Snow Storms. They cover plane failure, snafu's by the airlines, and the such.

Very few Insurance Companies will cover natural disasters. There are some, but just to make sure the Travel Agent isn't making a mistake, ask to see the policy section on when the insurance company will pay.

Discuss It!
