Ambulance Insurance Cover

Terrence Said:

Will my health insurance cover an ambulance ride?

We Answered:

health-quotes.isgreat.org - here is my health insurance plan. As I remember they can provide such a service.

Jean Said:

if you are drunk and have to take an ambulance to the hospital does your insurance cover it?

We Answered:

It depends on your coverage, call the number on the back of your insurance card. Some carriers would cover it some would not. Some jurisdictions provide free ambulance service.

Ricardo Said:

What is the average cost of an Ambulance ride if your insurance wont cover it?

We Answered:

It depends where you live, in some areas the Ambulance is free. The bigger problem is the life flight. Some Insurance only gives you $3,000 per year for ambulance and helicopter. One life flight can be $50,000. The EMT's have a standard protocol to call the helicopter depending on the mode of injury. If someone is unconscious or goofy from a head injury, they automatically get the heli.
Everyone needs to check their policy limits.

Sara Said:

Does insurance or medicare cover ambulance service?

We Answered:

Does she have any type of insurance?

Medicare will pay for emergency ambulance services but she'll be responsible for the $155 Part B deductible (if she has not already paid) plus 20% of the charges.

In some cases, Medicare MAY pay for limited non-emergency ambulance transportation if you have orders from your doctor saying that ambulance transportation is necessary because of your medical conditions.

If Medicare covers the charges and she has a Medicare Supplement the Supplement should pick up the balance that Medicare doesn't pay. If she has a Medicare Advantage plan she'll be responsible for the ambulance co-pay associated with that plan.
