I'm no expert, but as a compassionate person reading these boards, I think you have gotten so mired down in the bad circumstances of your recent life that your thinking has become weird.

Please -- find a life life! Look in your Yellow Pages for a suicide prevention hot line number, or get in touch with a minister (they usually know a lot about community resources). You are in crisis, and deserve help right now! After you get set up with a job, no matter how humble, your feet will be back on the path of independent living.

I'm sure other people on the board will have some constructive ideas for you as well. Your life is too valuable to throw away. I'm hoping that in future years you'll see this as the big turning point that made "down" become "up" for you.

If the car you want to test drive is from a dealership then they should have insurance to allow you to test drive their cars.

If its a private seller then you need to have your own insurance. This shouldn't be too difficult but.
There are plenty of insurance companies out there that will insure you for one day, if your age makes it more difficult then just shop around until you find one that will.

Elephant, and direct line are usually quite good for younger people, try them.

Otherwise get someone you trust (mum or dad) to test drive it for you.
