Types Of Insurance

Erica Said:

Can someone have two different types of insurance at the same time?

We Answered:

Yes you can have two different types of health insurance - ie. accident and sickness coverage and a stop loss policy which comes into play only after the limits of the first policy are exhausted.

Secondly you can have two health polices covering accident and sickness and another only for critical illness which is commonly done by many.

Hope this answers your case study.

requirements to sell all types of insurance?

We Answered:

Each state has different procedures but generally speaking you will need a state issued insurance license. In my state of LA you have to attend a 16-32 hour pre licensing course and then pass a tough exam. There are two basic types of insurance licenses: Life/Health & Accident where you inure PEOPLE; And then Property & Casualty where you insure PROPERTY. So depending on what arena you want to get into, your licensing requirements will vary. Visit your state's Insurance Commissioner website. As far as what type of person you need to be...You need to have a business owner mindest and not an employee mindset. Insurance requires a lot of hours and networking to build clients in the first 18 months. It is not get rich quick, but you can DEFINATELY get rich.

What types of insurance should professional photographers have?

We Answered:

1,000,000 personal liability plus coverage on all your professional equipment for replacement value. Most homeowners policies will not cover your equipment if it's used in your business. A lot of public places require proof of 1 mil liability insurance for professional shoots. Malpractice is also good to protect you from things such as losing wedding photos because of a bad card.

What different types of Insurance?

We Answered:

Auto Insurance
Renters / Homeowners Insurance
Health (medical & dental) Insurance
Life Insurance

With any insurance ... keep in mind ... the HIGHER the deductible ... the LOWER the premium.

Always ask for Auto quotes with $ 500 deductible and $ 1000 deductible

Auto is the most important ... legally you have to have at least the state minimum of coverage ... a brand new car that you are financing will need full coverage.

Other bills;
Rent / Mortgage
Utilities (water, garbage, electricity, gas)
Insurance (auto, medical)
Gas for your car
Maintenance for your car (oil changes, tires)
Food
Entertainment
Cable
Phone
Internet
Credit cards
Pets (food, vet visits, treats and toys)
Grooming (hair cuts, nails, massages)
Clothes

Write a budget ... office supply stores have great binder type spreadsheets all set up ...

GOOD LUCK ... what an exciting time for you .... !!!!!!!
