Sell Your Insurance Brokerage

Margie Said:

at what age have you started to work by your proffesion?

We Answered:

It's great that you are asking questions about your career at such a young age. But at 17, shouldn't you still be in school? Going to university will open a lot more doors for you in your career, so consider going to school part time or full time. In a few years, you will be earning a lot more money and have many more opportunities for possible careers.

I started working at age 15, but went to university and started working in my actual career when I was 22 (at an office).

Primerica marketing position?

We Answered:

Actually, insuranceguy, Primerica is far from a "one size fits all" misnomer. Our products are far more competitive than you would think. Our financial needs analysis allows us to see the clients picture of his/her financial health. Yes, the questions are the same for every client, but every client will have a different answer. Why? Because no two families are the same. They might be close, but what one thing works for one family may not be what will work for another.

We are captive agents. I do not have aproblem with selling anything that I own myself. If you think by price we are not competitive, then maybe by price we aren't. Would you pay a little bit more to add a spouse rider to a single policy aand how about a child rider, that for one payment covers BOTH existing kids and any kids in the future? What most other companies do is sell insurance to husband, then to the wife and also to each child separately. So for a family of 5, there are 5 policies. Each policy has fees attached to it. With us there is 1 policy covering ALL members of the household. One policy = one policy fee structure thus becoming more cost effective in the long run.

I guess if you wanted you could invest the way you say, but with us it is all done with one agent. As for us being MLM, so what? Most companies are. You have the owner who makes his money off the efforts of everyone below him. Will he tell you and show you how to do the same? NO!!! We will. All products we offer, we receive commissions from the provider of the services, NOT the customer. In this way, we are much like travel agents- doesn't matter if you go thru their agency or internet, travel goes thru an agent and they receive pay from the company(ies) that you use.

Hope this helps.

Am unsure what you mean by b/d? Sorry, wondered what that was but never asked.

Aaron, thru someone else's post I found that you think Primerica is a broker/dealer that dabbles in insurance, is this correct? If so, then No we are not a broker/dealer. Primerica owns its own insurance company. It used to be Milico, out of Massachusetts. In the last couple years of A.L.Williams, AL bought out the company using, mostly company raised funds. Twice it went out to the general public for purchase but is now wholly owned by Primerica.

We are agents who use the resources of Citi group. The company that we use for our mortgage loans is Citicorp Trust Bank but to use the best loan we have you can ONLY go through a Primerica agent. I say best becuz it is 30 yr fixed with upto 6 choices for payment- the worst is a monthly payment. This loan, with no extra payment will be paid off in 28 years instead of thirty and they just get better from there. The only part that could be b/d is investments but even the, Primerica owns Smith Barney. We are a full-service financial services company that is marketed across tables and is advertised by friends and co workers exclusively. There is NO cost for advertising, it is ALL word of mouth. Commissions paid to us are much like Travel agents- does not matter if you use internet or agency, they receive commissions from the companies that you use. Same with us. You do not pay us, the companies do.

Do I have a case for a Civil Restraining order in california?

We Answered:

What country are you in? I doubt that all of this would happen if you were in the United States as there are privacy laws to preven this. I also know that pharmacies cannot by law give out any information to anyone who isn't the patient. And the same thing applies to banks, etc. But if it is happening in the United States and you are NOT a minor child in their legal custody, then I suggest you get the best lawyer you can afford and follow their advice. I would also suggest that you get a medical check up from a reputable physician as you may have a condition that aggravates your reaction to the situation.

Good luck as you are going ot need it!

Do I have a case for a Civil Restraining order in california?

We Answered:

If you are an adult or emancipated minor, and there is no court order that they can invade your privacy (such as having legal guardianship or power of attorney), then you can sue both them and the entities which give them your personal information.

If they do have legal rights to invade your privacy, you can challenge them in court.

Definitely need an attorney on this.
