List Of Insurance Brokers

Jessie Said:

How can I obtain a list of all licensed property and casualty insurance brokers in New York?

We Answered:

You'd have to write to the NY Department of Insurance - I think they sell the lists, because I get promos all the time about continuing education, starting my own agency, etc.

But you're not going to get a spam list for free - you have to BUY it.

How do I become a insurance broker in Illinois and New York?

We Answered:

You start with the state of your legal residence, whichever state that is. You have to go to the state website. You probably need to decide which lines of insurance you want to sell, and then buy the study materials, pay for the exam, take and pass the test, then the backround check, to have your license.

Then you go to the OTHER state's website, to see what the requirements are for a nonresident license in that state - usually it's just a certificate from your home state, an application, and a fee.

Then, you find some insurance companies willing to appoint you in that/those states, for the lines of business you want to sell.

Company canceled my insurance after I made a claim?

We Answered:

The fact you are being cancelled for lack of payment of your premiums has nothing to do with the prior date of loss. The two are not connected in any way. If your insurance was in force as of the date of the claim, then your insurance was in force. Period.

Any FUTURE claims that occur AFTER the date of the cancellation are the claims there would be no coverage for.

As far as notifying your insurance company and/or agent that you would not be able to pay the full amount of your premium, if they don't receive the full payment, you have no coverage. Your agent nor your company can change that fact. It is a general misconception that policies can be extended or that the company and/or agent can stop your policy from cancelling without the proper premium. Full premium payments are the only thing that keep your policy in force and your agent certainly isn't going to pay them for you. Insurance doesn't work like utility bills or credit cards or loan payments. Insurance policies are good from one date to another for a specific amount of money. Without that money, no coverage.

You are covered for the claim as long as it occurred PRIOR to the cancellation date and it meets the terms of your policy.

How do I find a list of affluent individuals aged 62-64 in my city?

We Answered:

Look in Who's Who. They have lists of affluent and well connected people.
Check out the society section of the local paper. They usually have picture so you can see the age. In general, they tend to be older.

Brokers for Health Care Providers?

We Answered:

No. Providers contract with the insurance companies directly. Either the provider contact the company or the company will contact the doctor if they've had a request from a client.
