You probably need to hook up with your local agent association - www.iiaa.org.

If your contract with your current carrier prohibits this, or if your state laws won't let you "pass through" business from another broker, you could lose your current contract, or your license.

Insurance agent is the representative of an insurance company. And on the other hand, broker is the representative of the customer or the policyholder.

There is no business that makes money for eternity. Because Business environment is ever changing- what is true for today may not be true for next year. If one wants to make money for ever, one should develop an eye to recognize the changes that are taking place and be flexible to change one self accordingly.

However estate sector have most of the time remained an important sector. Hence I would give first preference to this sector. Second sector is Insurance- but it is quite competative and requires aggressive marketing approach. I would personally give this sector a second ranking. Third would naturally be Money Broker business.

If I were you I would first identify my strengths and weaknesses. Then i would match the same with the needs of the business I rpopose persuing. I would select the best match. If you need further help do let me know. May be I can suggest you a few resources that will help you do that.
