Most brokers don't charge any fees. They will do all the work for you. Why wouldn't you use a free resource to do the work so you don't have to?

Make sure that the broker is genuine and not misinforming the insurance company to reduce the premium. After that whichever is cheaper and provides right coverage, you should choose that. sometimes broker may reduce coverage to reduce the premium but you will have to suffer when when you need to claim and find that it was not covered.

Insurance brokers usually do add on an administration fee to the insurers quote, but as they get paid commission by the insurer, I personally feel that they take liberties, and they should certainly not increase the price as much as yours did.

The only real advantage of being with a broker is that if you need help, you get face to face contact rather than having to deal with an impersonal call centre or even deal with it online. It is also useful if you have a claim as they will chase the claim up on your behalf and will give you impartial advice, but if you feel happier to deal with your insurance yourself, it is worth doing so to save money as you end up paying brokers a lot of extra money for the little amount of work they do.

My husband is a high risk driver as well and we got insurance through Ontario Insurance Services. 1-800-387-4518 ext. 52654 the gentleman's name is Jay. We looked at 5 different brokers and not only did we get the best service from these guys but they were the best price too.
