Depends on how much commission you make. Call some insurance agent or broker in your area that specializes in this type of insurance.

Most agents do not deal with this. Find someone who does & then ask them.

95% wash out the first year, because it's straight commission sales. If you can sell, that's great.

The ones who make it, can make VERY good money - but it's LONG LONG hours the first few years, until you're established.


In my personal opinion, the younger you are, the harder it is to sell insurance to people - there's an inherent credibility issue.

Do you really want to sell high priced insurance products to people for a living?
Any employer insurance program is cheaper than what a person on commission can sell you.
So you would have to sell to unemployed or people without benefits at work. Very low class in very bad neighborhoods. On-line - lots of luck fighting the millions of others.

If I was self employed - I would go with a major insurance company or become self-insured.

You're better off using your local independent insurance agent association for insurance courses.
