Bruce Said:

Can I rent a vehicle without auto insurance?

We Answered:

Most major car rental companies will provide you with liability coverage on your rental! You may have to pay extra, but they do it all the time! It is not required that you own or insure a car before you can rent one! There are many people (mostly in large cities like New York) who do not own a car and when they need one, they rent!

Nelson Said:

Can an insurance agency require you to insure both vehicles with them?

We Answered:

Many of the "better" insurance companies require that all vehicles in a household are insured by them. The reason for this is their policy is more comprehensive than some other companies. When you are insured by one of these companies you are insured driving any car at any time (even rentals) and anyone driving your car is insured. The insurance company takes on more risk. With other companies you are only insured driving the listed car.

Jerome Said:

i have a salvaged vehicle is it wise to keep collision insurance?

We Answered:

If the vehicle has been properly restored, gone through body integrity check, and safety check, it is worth the same as it was before the accident, possibly more with new paint, etc. Keep collision on it, unless it has lower value because of age. In other words, if it is a 1985 K-Car, no collision, if it is a 2001 Corvette, keep collision.
