No. But just like you get a surcharge on your auto policy when you have an accident, you get a surcharge on your unemployment taxes when you have people filing claims. The more the claims, the higher the surcharge.

So your filing a claim, would raise how much they pay, from (example) 3% of payroll, to 5% of payroll.

You should also file a complaint with your state department of labor.

If you were insured at the time of the accident, then your insurance company would be working on your behalf to resolve this. However, you had no insurance, and you were the driver, so it falls on you. Sorry, this isn't going to be an easy thing to deal with.

Start contacting insurance companies licensed in your state. If you have no current book to roll, it may be difficult to contract with a company or companies, because you have no current loss experience.

Try nationwide, American National, Liberty Mutual, Met Life, Erie, Motorists Mutual, State Farm, Progressive, Dairyland.

Check with your Department of Insurance to get the names of other companies licensed in your state.

He job was interrupted by Homeland Security for profiling. I and many others do not believe that a profile is a description. If the police are looking for a white man 6' tall 175-185lbs between 35-45 years old this is a description not a profile. The profile is how he lives his life. what he likes to eat, what and where he drinks his friends and how he spends his spare time which does not have anything to do with his description. Why not pose as welfare workers, they are both federal and state workers

Let me remind you that in this nation we do not rely on natural resources like other rich nations. We solely rely on our economy and production. Therefore who riches and the money used by our government comes directly from our tax money. I do not see why the government should SUPPLY health care to everyone with other people money. Mind you i do not have health insurance so you would think i fell in the category of supporters. yet i do not.
because in reality the main problem is greed and cost, but as usual our government instead of facing the real issue and fight it tries to find a way around it and do a patch work instead. and there is only one simple reason to that ... because every single politician has at least one hand in some lobbyist or great health company's pocket. and everybody knows that you do not bite the hand that feeds you.
Stop charging thousands in premiums, stop paying high management millions of dollars in salaries, stop spending millions if not billions in adds and commercials promoting this or that brand of medication, stop abusing the system simply because you can and finally ... stop ripping off your own people because you are greedy.
THAT should do it ... now who has the cojones to face the music? ... no one.

Your most recent job was modeling which was considered self-employment, therefor no unemployment insurance taxes were paid for by your employer(s). Therefore, you are not eligible for unemployment benefits from that work.

You quit the job prior to your modeling, therefore you are not eligible for unemployment benefits from that work.

Until you get a job for at least 4 months which pays you on a W-2 basis (the employer pays taxes), you will not be eligible for unemployment benefits.

You may say that you don't know what to do, but actually, you do know. You need to get a job. Perhaps it's not a job you want, but you need to pay your bills. There is no one to help you except yourself. So go back to retail, keep off the inches, save up enough money to go back to NY and get back into modeling. You did it once, you can do it again. And best of luck in fulfilling your dreams.
