Unemployment Insurance Agency

Charlotte Said:

Can I claim unemployment insurance if i declined an offer?

We Answered:

~~It depends on your state law. In CA you do not have to accept a job offer if it is more miles, significantly less pay, or completely different hours that you had previously.

So look at you state's unemployment laws regarding what is required.

Just from knowing so many people in your situation, depending on the state you live you may have no choice but to accept something below your standards for awhile just because the job market is very tough right now. So weigh your decision carefully, once those benefits run out, you can be in a devastating mess. One good thing about a staffing agency is they can keep you working. I know they will note you refused work which means you wont be on their list to call. They have hundreds of candidates applying for every position available. Just something to think about before you decide.~~

We Answered:

They can garnish his wages. They can place liens on any unattached property like his car or home. They might also deny any future claims, but that won't be the only thing they do.

Annie Said:

What is unemployment insurance? Is it paid by employer or employee? How will they get it return?

We Answered:

Each state has a state employment (unemployment) office. If you fine yourself unemployed and you meet certain requirements you are entitled to receive an unemployment check. Each state have different guidelines on how much you will receive and the length of time you will be able to receive it (although I think in most cases it is 6 months) GOOD LUCK

Kristen Said:

if your temp agency don't respond to unemployment by the due date, will unemployment insurance automatically?

We Answered:

My husband had to file for unemployment benefits last year. His ex employer did not respond to the notice of hearing on time but the hearing was scheduled anyway. Not only did he receive his benefits, but the arbitrator really laid into the employer on the phone for repeatedly being late in answering the notices! You should be fine.
