Tennessee Insurance Agency

Allen Said:

help me please have i run out of time?

We Answered:

I believe it's just a year from the at fault party. There may be help still under your own policy but they could deny for late reporting.

If your agent couldn't assist you with this question, then I would find another insurance company. This is basic info they should no or at least with one phone call can find out.

You can also contact any attorney to find this out for free as well.

Good Luck

What would be the charge, if any, for this?

We Answered:

It wouldn't be considered filing a false police report, since an accident did happen. Filing a report saying you were in an accident when you weren't would be filing a false police report.

In my state, I would charge someone with furnishing fraudulent documents (a felony). They could also be charged with obstructing a police officer or hinder/opposing a police officer (misdemeanors).

Edit: I'm not sure what it would be called in Tennessee, but I'm sure you have similar laws on the books.

How Do I Become an Independent Insurance Agent/Open My Own Agency/Office?

We Answered:

If you have NO IDEA how to do this, you need to get a job working in an agency, and learn the business.

First of alll, Allstate and Nationwide are captive agent companies. They will NOT let you write for any other company, besides Allstate, or Nationwide.

Second, you have to have a license, so you go to YOUR STATE insurance department website and pass a test. THEN, you have to convince an insurance company you know what you're doing (which you don't) so they let you sell their insurance.

If you want to get into this business, go walk into a couple local agencies. ANY ONE OF THEM would be willing to hire you as a producer, on a straight commission basis, once you pass the tests. They'll have support staff to help you, and they'll "train" you in how to fill out applications, and how the business works.
