Everett Said:

does one believe that a person can be sized up like profilers do?

We Answered:

As humans, we wear many hats and that tends to lead me to believe that no one can ever be truly known completely as it depends on what "hat" they are wearing!

Now, I do believe that certain body gestures and such gives clues about a persons thoughts. Only thoughts, not who they are as that is way too broad to classify anyone.

I know that I was different with my husband than I am with my children. This is why I believe it would be very difficult to ever truly label millions as one in the same!

We are all unique and this alone complicates the science of labeling!

How to get car Insurance on a G1 License?

We Answered:

For car insurance the best way to get a very good quote is do a policy comparison on car policies. Make certain that you compare similar policies with the same limits, car make, location, etc so that all options are a good comparison.

What I most often recommend is an online comparison quote at http://www.InsureAutoNow.info since they have top name insurers and can give several quotes on car insurance polices.

Is this man a sociopath?

We Answered:

First, "sociopath" is not an official psychiatric diagnosis. The actual diagnosis is called antisocial personality disorder which basically is a pervasive pattern of disregarding and violating the rights of others which begins in childhood and continues into adulthood.

Individuals with this diagnosis don't care about the rights or feelings of others; they lie, cheat, and manipulate others for personal gain, whether that be to gain money, power, sex etc. These individuals lack empathy for others, show little remorse for their hurtful/illegal behaviours and tend to have a sense of entitlement. They are indifferent to the feelings of others, even if they mistreat these people or steal from them. They are also irritable (e.g., moody, easily 'pissed off'), impulsive (e.g., fail to plan ahead), aggressive (e.g., verbally and physically), suspicious of others, reckless (e.g., don't care about safety of others), and irresponsible (e.g., can't keep a job, honor debts etc). The majority of individuals with this diagnosis also have criminal histories (i.e., have been in trouble with the law, or been in jail). These people also display a superficial charm- they can be polite, pleasant people when they want to be, but this is always in order to obtain some sort of payoff.

Most individuals with this diagnosis have experienced a difficult if not traumatic childhood. As such, the aforementioned behaviours are learned by the child to cope with the harsh reality of their early environment. Whilst advantageous for the child, these behaviours become redundant in adulthood. But because they a part of the adult's personality, they cannot be "unlearned".

From your description, it is possible that your relative would meet some of the diagnostic criteria for antisocial personality disorder. However, any diagnosis would need to be made by a psychologist following a comprehensive assessment.

Is this man a sociopath?

We Answered:

It shows you have got lot of patience. You have taken all the trouble to compile a full list of his negatives. You deserve all praise.

One should not take up too much of a struggle in life like this. It should not be very costly, if one completely ignores all such things.

Is this man a sociopath?

We Answered:

Sounds like he never grew up. If he loves his kids and loves animals, he can't be all bad.

Compulsive lying is usually a coping skill devised to make the liar look better in other people's eye's because of the liars own lack of self worth.

Paranoia and confrontational aggressiveness can be linked to several disorders, including borderline personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, bipolar and major depression, schizoid and schizophrenia.

You don't say how he gets along with friends and family, but good men can act like sociopaths during divorce and custody. A lot depends on his past history, if he doesn't have one it's probably just the divorce and settlement issues. Men feel desperate enough and then their money is threatened too, and when they think money defines them, and it is all they are worth they fight like animals.
