You can start the ball rolling with setting up an organization to help out. Applying for a 501(c)3 can be a time consuming process, but you can do this even after you have the organization started. Check out the SS-4 on irs.gov. This forms gets you a tax id number from the fed, and will allow you to open a bank account. You may want to call the IRS for more information. I'm no professional but this may be a place to start.

How much money do you have? An assistant is a luxury, and you need to decide if you want to spend the money to have one.

What type of insurance are you selling? Is it P&C, which requires a lot of paperwork that would take you away from sales, or is it life, which has less?

Eventually you're going to need an office staff, but I'd wait and save my money until you absolutely need it.

request them to give it in writing. they will never give.

As per IRDA rules, First you have to undergo 50 hrs training then pass the test , after which a company can issue licence. You can convass business only after you get a licence. If the company asks you to introduce cases before giving licence, complain to IRDA. Company's licence can be cancelled

For corporate agency/broker, you have to form a firm/company

It just depends in certain states it is LEGAL to record, as long as 1 party is aware that the conversation is being recorded. So therefore your friend would not have to be notified, however, most national companies to be above board and to ensure they are not calling in a state where this is illegal, they should "announce" that they "could" record the information.

Might want to review the legal information for your state and get the law enforcement involved or legal counsel.
