Medical Insurance Agencies
Jacqueline Said:
Is there agencies that help fill prescriptions when you have no medical insurance.?We Answered:
Try this website: http://www.needymeds.com/This is a program that hospital case coordinators and social workers use to help find free prescriptions for patients who can't otherwise afford them. I've even used it for my mother.
You can search by the medication name you need -- either by brand name, generic name, or drug manufacturer name. Once you've located the medication(s) you need, the website will give you all of the information needed to contact that particular Patient Assistance Program, usually online. It will also have links to the applications needed to apply for free (or sometimes greatly reduced) medications. Once approved, most companies will send the medications right to your door -- but sometimes they'll be sent and distributed (still for free or extremely cheap) through your doctor's office. If you have trouble filling out the applications, there is someone at your doctor's office who can help you -- usually a social worker.
You'll have to fill out an application for each drug needed, unless more than one drug comes from the same manufacturer. You'll also have to provide some financial information...to prove your financial need, and usually the doctor will have to sign, too. But, hey! It's worth it if you're able to find assistance programs that provide you with free, much needed medication.
Good luck to you!

medical insurance claims, first aid and education? We Answered:
Absolutely! As a person who worked both sides of that question---processing insurance claims at a major insurance company, and also as an insurance clerk in a medical office, I have found that unfortunately, insurance companies will deny claims hoping that you don't know enough of what you are talking about to rebutt this. And often times from the medical office side--they will submit once and if there is a problem, the patient is left to deal with the insurance company while the doctors office expects payment from the patient, once an insurance company denies---for any reason.Tracy Said:
i have two medical insurance if i admited in hospital shall i claim bot insurance and will get mony form two i?We Answered:
The benefits are coordinated between the companies you would not receive payments for the same procedure twice. The exception to this would be if the other policy is not a major medical policy but is, instead, a supplemental policy. A supplemental policy pays cash benefits to you to help you and your family with unexpected expenses. The benefits are pre-determined and paid regardless of any other insurance you have. AFLAC is probably the best known provider of such policies.Sergio Said:
I do not have medical insurance and just recently I injured my knee. I need surgery to fix it. ?We Answered:
Most hospitals have "free bed" programs, funded by community action programs. You should contact the billing department at your local hospital and see if they have such a program. If so, ask them what the qualification requirements are.Stanley Said:
Is it required to have health/medical insurance ?We Answered:
Hmm. To answer your question: no, you're not required to have health insurance. However, and as you seem to know already, it's not really a good idea to run around without some sort of coverage, at least for "catastrophic" care (i.e., big, expensive problem: surgery, hospital, etc.).Here's a few ideas:
1. Depending on your income, etc. you may be able to qualify for either Medicaid and/or a state-run program in your area. You might want to call your state's Insurance Commissioner's Office to find out what programs are available to you.
2. For another good resource, go to NAHU.org (see below) and click on their "health access database" button on the right. NAHU is the professional association of brokers (like me) who specialize in health insurance plans for individuals.
3. You may want to consider talking with a broker near you, too, who's a member of NAHU. Click the 2nd link below to find one.
4. Finally, you may want to run some prices on your own to get an idea of what's available & at what cost. If you do, look for a plan with a larger deductible to hold down the cost. Even with a big deductible (say, $2,500 to $5,000) you'll still get things you use more, like a doctor & generic drug copay.
Hope this helps some...
