what your mom needs to do is call either your primary physician or a dermotologist. Even your regular doctor can prescribe meds for your acne and suggest certain face products. it is also possible your regular doctor can refer you to a dermotologist. Have your mom call the insurance and see if they cover dermotology.... thats your first step.

HARSHfromApnapaisa : Cashless facility is offered by insurance companies to a select list of hospitals that are pre-approved by the Insurance company for this specific purpose. Every insurance company is still offering cashless facility. The controversy that you see in the media was regarding the one time removal of hospitals from the cashless network (the PSU's call them part of their Preferred Provider Network) of the PSU Insurers only unless they accepted the new rate structures put forward by the PSU Insurance companies. The smaller hospitals signed up and are back in the PSU insurers cashless network but the major hospitals are yet to accept the rates laid down by the PSU insurance companies. The matter is currently (as on September 22, 2010) being discussed at the highest levels between the hospitals and insurance companies with the health ministry also being reportedly involved.

The cashless network of most private companies continue as before. In fact you can find the current cashless network of each provider on the websites of the individual insurance companies. Please note that for any company there are always some hospitals being added and deleted from the network on a regular basis. This is true for PSU companies as well as private companies. The reason for the ocntroversy was the wholesale removal of hospitals from the cashless facility by the PSU insurers.

The thing not mentioned, is that our insurance RATES are high as a kite due to the inordinate numbers of people who are driving, doing damage and having no insurance.

I recently had about $1000 worth of prop damage done by what turned out to be an illegal. He hit and ran of course.
But through some slick, dick detective work I found him. When the police confronted him, he lied and then finally admitted his wrong doing. With me insisting, they impounded his unregistered car, he was unlicensed and uninsured. With pressure on him going to jail, I got him to pay about $300.

When I called my insurance rep, she told me not to file a claim as it was likely my rates would go up even higher.
In the last 3 years my ins. rates (property) have gone up 20-30% yearly each year. I have never had any claims.
Course this increase is likely due to Katrina disaster but still the agent assured me, the Ins. folks are getting creamed on illegal caused, uninsured motorist accidents. (Then there are the deaths. We've all heard more people die at the hands of Illgal immigrants daily in the US ...than in the Iraq war.)

Compliments mostly of lllegal visitors who simply don't care about the rest of us. And we foolishly allow this to continue at our own peril.

Yes, actually less in some figures I've seen. And lawsuits are less than 1% of total healthcare costs. While HMO costs are 30% of healthcare costs. Doctors aren't even that much, they are about 20%, and they do the actual work. It's nuts. And people who claim tort reform would make any difference at all are also nuts, less than 1% isn't going to help any of us.

Many policies have exclusions that include gastric bypass and lap band surgeries. It may be medically necessary but isn't a covered benefit. You may have to change your policy from an HMO to a PPO during open enrollment but this won't guarantee that a PPO will cover it. You'd have to investigate in advance. You may have to consider private pay.
