Look! Auto Insurance?

We Answered:

If you want to check out whether a company is licensed in your state, it is best to check directly with the state of Michigan. The website for you to look this up is http://www.cis.state.mi.us/fis/ind_srch/…

I checked and the Agency is licensed. You can check other agencies at the same website.

The only thing is that I also viewed the website for Look Insurance Agencies and they state that they are an agency that specializes in non-standard or high risk insurance. Basically people are placed in the non-standard or high risk auto insurance market when they have a bad driving record, youthful and/or inexperienced driver, etc. If you have a good record and otherwise do not fit this criteria, I suggest you try to obtain insurance in the standard market through an independent insurance agent.

Good Luck

Anybody else get phone calls from insurance agencies after posting on Monster.com?

We Answered:

Yes, it is the monster that keeps them healthy. They do 'mass' interviews. The theory is if they make enough calls to people who have a general skillset match they can talk a handful in to interview each week. Out of that handful they are able to lure 1-2 in with promises of large pay checks. It is not really a lie, nor do I view it as blatantly deceptive. If they simply called us and asked if we wanted to sell insurance the average person would say no. So, they have established a process to sugar coat their industry and pitch their industry in a more positive light. This works great for them. The only thing I dislike is they blindly throw candidates through the process or up against a wall - you are more a warm body than a candidate. Not everyone gets these calls mind you... Eventually some are very successful... Most fail then it is time for more calls.
