Maybe u are refering to Tied agency (maybe u need to check the spelling at your end) .

In Tied agency, the Insurance adviser only represent ONE insurance company. They will do financial planning for their client and sell their company products accordingly. Usually these tied agency are rated the top 4 to 5 companies of in the country.

For General Agency, We call it the Independent Financial Advisory company. They can represent a few principal insurance companies and can sell different company's products to client. Some insurance adviser or they call it Financial adviser ; will charge a fee to client for doing a total financial planning for them. Tied agency usually don't do that.

You need an Event Liability Policy. However without knowing what State/Province you live in it's impossible to recommend anyone. You can always speak to the brokerage/agency where you have you car/home insured and ask if they provide this coverage. If not then you will have to look in your phone book and contact a few brokers in your area and see what they can provide.

You have the education. Make friends with an adjuster, See if you can go on his or her route. See what needs to be done on a first hand basis. Then apply at the insurance companies and then one should hire you.

You say that, like they all have ONE rate for everyone. And, you didn't include one of my favorite companies - USAA.

The one cheapest for me, is probably not going to be the cheapest one for you.

I did notice, though, you didn't include any companies except direct writers and captives. There are TONS of insurers you didn't include.

When you're shopping around to find the cheapest one for you, you should probably also call a few independent agents, so you can get quotes from companies like Travelers, Zurich, Erie, Safeco, Merchants, or other regional carriers in your area.

Approach the company you prefer and you have to undergo an IRDA training and pass the exam to do the business
