Unfortunately, they are absolutely right. Even if they were with separate companies, you would still be paying the deductible on each policy. There is no way around it. Unfortunately, while yours really was an accident, there are plenty of people who would do this on purpose to get a few things accomplished under one deductible. Also, property damage on the auto policy is specifically for damage to other people's property. Damage to your own property, vehicle, bike, and home, falls under the coverage provided on its own policy.
