Home Car Insurance

Jacob Said:

How can I tell the differences between a home owners insurance policy ,and car insurance policy?

We Answered:

You look at the front page. The front page of a homeowners policy says "homeowners" and lists an address, and the "dwelling". The front page of an auto policy says "automobile" and lists a car.

Dwellings aren't listed on car insurance policies. Cars aren't listed on homeowners policies. If the policy has both a car and a dwelling listed, it's probably an umbrella.

I live in S.C and I want to buy a car that is 30 miles away. Can I drive it home with my old car's Insurance?

We Answered:

Many experts here. The only way that your current insurance automatically covers your new purchase is IF you have traded the old car and obviously no longer need the coverage. But if your old car had liability only the new purchase would have only that coverage and not comp & collision. You can not legally drive with no tag or with a tag registered to another vehicle.
