Any Dallas Co. records re Delmar Ray Summarell, born circa 1932?

We Answered:

It appears that you are one of his exwives. You might want to contact your ex in-laws if things ended amicably. Zabasearch would be a great place to start.

Medical Bill Question..?

We Answered:

Whether they "can" find you financially responsible is irrelevant.

They can't do anything without a court finding.

Collection agents will often say and do anything to try to get some money.

Write a letter to the collection agency and the physicians office. Tell them in the letter that you didn't take the patient to the doctor's office, you didn't authorize the visit, you didn't sign anything and you didn't approve anything and that you are not reponsible for any charges.

Tell the collection agent that you understand their postition, but that if they call anymore you will have to consider talking to a lawyer about harrassment.

Don't let them bully you.

Several people have agreed that because you carry insurance on your son that you are responsible for any medical bills that he might get anywhere. This is not true. I could choose to buy medical insurance on your behalf and it would NOT make me reponsible for any of your medical costs.

Should I claim 0 or 1? VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!?

We Answered:

well i live in florida and im 22 and have been in your situation.my parents pay my insurance and car and i pay them back for it.after a certain age your parents can no longer claim you as a dependant unless you fully are a dependant upon them.for every job ive ever had ive clamied zero.claming zero means that you have the maximum taxes taking out of your wages from your job as required by state and national law.and more than likeley since you do that when you file your taxes you get almost back what the government took in the taxes from your wages.now if you clamied one then the government takes the minimum out of your wages for taxes and you have the possibility of owing the government money when you go to file your taxes.so your best bet would be to talk it out with your father.but if were you id claim zero.

Dallas Fort Worth Area Help a Sister Out!!!?

We Answered:

I cut and pasted the below from http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Adoption_and… We also got a listing of the agencies when we went to the informational meeting.

Sorry, we haven't used anyone in the Dallas area, so can't give a recommendation. We live in Region 7 and use The Settlement Home and have had friends use Pathways. Both are excellent. I am the only one who carries medical insurance for the family and the only one with life insurance (it didn't seem to matter to our agency). To evaluate the agencies, we reviewed all the online information (googled every center to find their web page), then called all the agencies in our area we liked from the information provided, and the ones that still seemed nice, we made an appointment to visit. Having a friendly and supportive Agency makes a big inpact on your experience. You need to build a relationship with them, so make sure the ones you will work with are nice and trustworthy. I would recommend getting foster care certified as well and when you get the chance, fostering the children you want to adopt first. The records the kids have before are not always correct, some issues may have been glossed over, some issues that seem big are nothing. Fostering first (even for just a few months) gives you and the child time to get to know each other, before that next step of adoption, so it works for everyone in the long run. I also think you have more resources available to help you and the children if you foster first (if it is medical, emotional, physical, respite, or just support and someone to call).

Feel free to email me with any questions and Good Luck - it is a great experience!
