The red cross will know where you can turn to for help.
Also to help him out with groceries there is a place called, angelfoodministries.com. Go there and follow the instructions on how to get food.
They have a box full of food including meat to last up to a couple of weeks for one person for only $25.00.

My parents are elderly and on a very limited income and I go down once a month and order food for them through this ministry and it is good food.
It does not matter how much money you make, you can be a millionaire and still qualify for this service.

Also, one time I had a friend who lost her home through a fire and I went to Walmart, talked to the manager and he gave me a voucher for them to come in and get clothes, baby items, necessities....etc.
Try that...But we got donations from Walmart and from Kroger.
