If it has not yet gone to collections, try to work with the doctor's office. If it was their error, they should be willling to work with you. If it is too late for the doctor to submit the bill, have them send you a copy and see if you can fax it to someone's attention at the insurance and get it processed ASAP.

The collections agency's work in different ways. If it has already been turned over, you will need to request the billing and submit it yourself. They may or may not tack on penalties and interest. You will have to ask.

The nicer you are to them, the nicer they will (hopefully) be to you.

No.

Your insurance policy has language in it that your insurance company has the right to inspect the damage. Since the roof has already been replaced, they were unable to do that.

Insurance claims are not handled on an after the fact reimbursement basis.

Next time, call the insurance company first.

I suggest you join your local Independent Insurance Agent Association and ask around. If you are a CPCU, join your local CPCU chapter too.

There are not "hiring" in the usual sense of agreeing to pay a salary or wage.

They are offering positions where, if you are able to get someone to buy something, then they will give you a commission.

There is a high turnover rate, but that is not why they have these positions.

Sometimes, someone who does not need more insurance, will buy it anyway, if a friend or relative has just started a new job selling it. If you accept a position, then it is possible that one of your friends or relatives might buy a policy, who otherwise would not have bought. If that happens, then the company makes money, pays you some of it, and keeps some of it.

If you sell nothing, you get paid nothing.

Well over 90% of new insurance salespersons (by some estimates, closer to 100%) fail at it. Almost no one lasts a year. Most of those who stay for more than a few months are not making money, but stay because they are told that they will be making money soon, and quit when they realize that they will never make money. A few do make money, but that is very rare.

If the agent is not returning your calls you try to get in touch with the manager of the insurance agency. If that fails to get their attention try contacting your state's insurance regulatory agency.
