Church Insurance Company

Kyle Said:

Churches, Mosques, Mandirs, Pagodas etc are kind of INSURANCE company, agree?

We Answered:

Philosophically, it's true that people (i.e. Believers) always think about/on/over "after-life". If one is real believer, one should take this fragile "world" as a temporary place to live in. The eternity is the factor to ones. So, whatever one does here in this so-called "two-days-world", one should have to be "religiously intelligent" to think on the life...er...REAL eternal life ahead. Forget your philosophical asking, better come to the present world: What we use to do here? Don't we SAVE for the uncertain FUTURE? Don't we do something for our future generations? When one does so here in a fragile "two-days-world", why not then they should do same for the permanent after-life? How one can do so? by good deeds, by honest thinking, by helping others, by keeping peace among all etc. Well, to me, in a way, these are 'premiums' too. Yet, as the Believers use to believe on a GOD & people use to suppose (from the beginning of the TIME) that they have one holy place called Church or Mosque or Mandirs or Pagodas etc, they frequently visit those places....er...for what? Do you think to let the GOD know about their all the good deeds? Huh! God knows everything. They, in fact, visit those places to pay their installments of 'premiums' so that their afterlife is Insured. (One interesting math: I heard from my Muslim friends & relatives that if you pay a certain amount here in this world, you might get double, triple or sometimes many more times in return in the afterlife. Look, it's like the 'profit & bonus' of the insurance companies. One more funny thing is this, there are so many insurance companies & there are so many types of religions too! Some might be 'false', who knows? Clients may not get back their benefits :-) from all the companies! At this philosophical page, I must not say anymore.

Separation of church and state Question: How come insurance companies still have an act of God clause?

We Answered:

Good question. Your misconception is often applied to various situations where people do not really understand The Constitution. You are not alone, I have seen journalists, professors and others make the same mistake.
First. An insurance company is not a government entity. They could have a clause related to an act of Buddha, Jesus, God, etc.
Second. There is somehow this odd idea that religion or mention of a religious reference, is somehow breaching the separation clause. That clause is related to establishing a state sponsored religion or say the US government decided to allow the Methodist Church to choose two senators or appoint 1 federal judge per state. It sounds so odd you have not even considered those type of things, but they are normal practice in a lot of countries.
Third. The act of God phrase is not even religous, as just a common phrase that is just an easy way to summarize a list of claims they will not pay.

Renee Said:

If Jesus paid for sins and crimes why insurance companies are paying billions of dollars for crimes in church?

We Answered:

You do not know what you are talking. It will only appear about your ignorance of the bible and lack of understandiong. It does not mean that if Jesus paid for our sins, it is about money. Use your intellect
if you have it

Ruben Said:

How do you find out what Insurance Company a church is with?

We Answered:

You would have to sue the church either in small claims or ?

Then the church would notify their insurance company.

Sonia Said:

How can an insurance company not cover injuries suffered during an "exorcism"?

We Answered:

Christians claim god makes and causes everything!!

Insurance companies specifically exclude acts of god!!

So why do Christians waste their money on insurance when any claim they make would be fraudulent?!!

Eduardo Said:

Should the term "act of God" be stricken from the legal conditions regarding warranties and insurance?

We Answered:

It's another way of saying "a natural disaster"; in other words, "not man-made". So, if an event is NOT caused by man....by the neglect or mess up of a man or of men...then it's a natural disaster, like a hurricane or a tornado or an earthquake or a volcanic explosion, or a tsunami. However, there is a line between just a plain natural disaster and a situation in which a man...or men...changed something in such a way as to make a natural disaster worse. One such example is what the Army Corp of Engineers did in New Orleans. That group designed and built something that made Hurricane Katrina worse. The hurricane was a natural disaster but the Corp is responsible for making it worse.
