Car House Insurance

Christine Said:

If a roof tile blows off my roof in a storm & damages my car, do I claim via House or Car Insurance? Thanks!?

We Answered:

Your property policy excludes 1st party coverage to your car (just as if your in an accident with the car, your property policy won't address the damage to the car... vehicle is specifically excluded on the policy). Also, liability coverage under the property policy does not cover your car as you cannot be liable to yourself.

So as others mentioned, homeowners for damage to house roof and auto insurance for damage to car.

Christine Said:

Please tell me your top twenty major expenses you have each year. IE car insurance, aaa, house ins ect!?

Heather Said:

Do I need to be on the car insurance if I don't live in the house?

We Answered:

When you have insurance... the insurance is for the car NOT the person. With the company that I work for... if you are only driving this car for one day and you have a valid drivers license then you may use the vh since the vehicle is insured. If you are going to be an "occasional" driver of the vehicle (meaning using the vehicle every month)... then yes you should be rated as a driver on the vehicle.

Sam Said:

Can anyone tell me if the medical portion of my auto insurance & house insurance is deductible on Sch A?

We Answered:

No, because those medical insurance premiums are not necessarily for medical treatment of you or your dependents. They cover other people as well.

Melvin Said:

does the deductible bill for car insurance get sent to your house right away?

We Answered:

The deductible applies to any claim for damage to your car.

If you file a claim under your collision coverage. The insurance company will write an estimate for the repairs. Then they subtract $500 from the amount of the estimate. That is the amount they pay you. Then you take the car to the shop to be fixed. When you pick up the car, you give the shop the money the insurance company paid you for the damage plus you $500 deductible.

The damage to the other person's car is paid under the liability coverage. There is no deductible for that.

Kurt Said:

I need $ and I already burnt down my car and house for insurance. What else can I burn?

We Answered:

Have you considered a credit bureau?

Take a job in one, light it on fire, and say they burnt your $50,000 stapler.
