Vera Said:

Is it illegal not to report a minor auto car accident to your insurance company in CA?

We Answered:

What transpires between you and your insurance company is none of government's business. Government cannot "force" you to use (or not use) the insurance.

However, it *is* illegal to NOT report accidents with damage > $750 to the CA DMV, and may result in suspension of your license should the other party report it and you don't.

In California can my car insurance company raise my rates based on my new zip code?

We Answered:

Funny, someone asked this EXACT question last week or so.

Yes, they can. There is no law saying they can't.

Carol Said:

Which CA insurance companies offer IVF coverage to employers shopping for a group plan for their employees?

We Answered:

Well, ALL of them, if the employer wants to PAY for it, but that coverage election will dramatically increase the cost of the insurance.

In CA, it takes two employees to be a group - however, to buy the IVF option on group insurance, you're going to need at least 25 employees participating. And, of course, it's limited to two tries, and will cost a WAY LOT extra, per employee.

I guess what I'm trying to say, is you can't start your own group with the minimum number of people, only to get IVF coverage on your policy. Financially, it's probably going to cost you at least an extra $10,000 a year - the cost of one attempt.

Has anyone ever used the car insurance company Survival Insurance based in CA? Is it reliable?

We Answered:

Survival Insurance is a brokerage, not an insurance company. Find out what the AM Best rating is for the company where they are quoting you. Accept nothing less than an A- or you will regret it. Also, make sure they are not trying to cut your expenses by cutting into your coverages. If you own a home and a car, make sure you are insured for at least 100/300/50, or you will regret it. If you buy cheap, they may skimp on customer service or claims service if you really need it.

Many people think that "full coverage" is having liability, comp and collision. That is true, however, you could have "thimble" full of full coverage (ie state minimum) or a bucket full (ie: 100/300/50) or a tank full (1 million Combined single limit). You have to look at the WHOLE picture, not just the bottom line.

Mario Said:

What is the MAX for pain and suffering, coverd by insurance companies in CA?

We Answered:

The maximum would be the maximum of the policy of the person responsible for your damages. That information is not in the public domain. Would you like it if your agent told your limits?

Your best source of information will be your insurance agent.
