Agency Car Insurance

Tommy Said:

Looking for a good car insurance agency but not too expensive, any advise ?

We Answered:

USAA or State Farm.

The rate might've gone up based on the contractual requirements of your financing agreement (if the car is financed) but also based on the cost of repair (if it's something like a Jaguar or BMW)

Penny Said:

Car insurance claim closed by agency, what if I get another bill?

We Answered:

Have you signed anything stating that all claims have been paid and no more money will be paid on this claim? If there are legitimate bills resulting from the claim and you haven't signed over your rights to future compensation - then they will likely reopen the claim to pay the bills.

Marcia Said:

I was hit by a car and their insurance agency paid me 1260 for repairs. Can i still use my deductible w/USAA?

We Answered:

You can not be paid twice for the same claim.

Don Said:

How do I register a car that was sold to my insurance agency?

We Answered:

You don't own the car any longer, why would you want to register it?

Randall Said:

how to open car insurance agency?

We Answered:

Assuming you are in the UK

1) You need to ensure that you have competent staff, who can advise customers on their needs
2) You need adequate finanical resources to run the company - i.e. to burn through whilst establishig the business
3) You need software from a supplier who can provide you with quotes for car insurance from various companies.
4) You need to have agency agreements in place with the companies with whom you wish to place business - how will you persuade them to grant you one? Oh - you won't get one from any of the 'Direct Companies' - Direct Line, Churchill, Swiftcover, Admiral etc
5) You need authorisation from the FSA to transact insurance business.
6) You need to set up a bank account to handle client money
7) You need to have a location either on the high street - passing trade - or if not then you must be prepared to spend a lot of money advertising
8) Forget about the internet - unless you intend to specialise in a particular aspect of car insurance - you will never get on the first 2 or 3 pages of google as the competition is so intense.
9) Remember you will have gross earnings of 10 - 12.5% on the premium - called a commission. From that you have to pay all your bills.

If I were you I'd forget about it - I am a broker and have vitually given up on looking for motor insurance - the cost of aquisition of each case is often more than the premium!

Charlie Said:

Do I need to purchase insurance from the rental car agency in Spain?

We Answered:

it depends on the insurance you all ready have... some of them like the "Collision damage Waiver"... it is for the excess? it depends on how much your excess is ect. if you crashed here would you be able to afford the 200€/$ excess ??

Another thing is if you're from the U.S.A I don't know how it would work... I think you'd need to buy European Protection...

because here... they market insurance with European Cover as standad for 90 days for example.. but some companies don't give you any, so if you're from the U.K or E.U you might all ready have some

;) Also if you tick the box before you rent the car and ask for things such as a roof rack, if you rent the cheapest car and they don't have a roof rack for that model you've asked for then they will upgrade the car for you =) so add everything that is free, and that you could put-up with if you did have to get it.... but for example a Micra... you won't get a roof rack but it's an option so you might get a SEAT Ibiza =)

have a nice time
