Katie Said:

Men (esp. age 25-35)--would you date a young woman who is not settled in her career?

We Answered:

Of course I would. As long as she is a good person and clicked with me. I mean it is rare to get that great job right off the bat and long as you keeping your ahead above water and working towards something better than you have nothing to feel bad about. I have two degrees and working on a post-bacc and still do not have the job I want. Living at your parents house should not be an issue either. You sound like you have a plan and that will happen in no time. I am sure you will be dating very soon.

Actually, you sound just like someone I met last week and she was very dateable.

Pregnancy Questions and help...?

We Answered:

As far as how she is feeling that is normal, but there is an end in sight the second trimester! And I think it is totally awesome that you are taking the time to help her out.
I would still schedule an appointment with an OB, usually they won't see you till after the 8th week.

1)If both of you are working, is insurance not offered at either of your jobs? If so it might be time to look into it. You can also call around your local doctor's offices and see what they do if you do not have insurance. I know that there are some that will charge based on your income. Also, if you did get insurance make sure that pregnancy is not consider a prior condition.

2)Quitting isn't the best answer, because symptoms come and go. Right now she may be feeling like crap but in 2-3 weeks she might be feeling awesome and the morning sickness passed. Perhaps she can talk to her employers and cut back on her work load or even hours, but not completely quit.

3)It's hard for a mother to be to be happy about a pregnancy when she is sick all the time. But once you go in for your first ultrasound, hear the heartbeat for the first time, and feel the baby kick things will be different.
