Depends on the car, your age, how long you have been driving, any previous driving convictions, your job and where you live etc - impossible to quote for unless these are known. 'Phone round some companies or get on-line quotes.

Okay, permissible use by another driver follows the car policy, not the driver.

In other words, if you drive your mom's car, it would be covered under her policy. There is no exclusion for someone who works in the motor trade industry.

Any vehicle you drive in your work is covered by the business owners liability insurance, care, custody, and control.

The only way you could have a problem would be restrictions due to driving records. Even if you purchased a bond, it covers your liability to drive any vehicle. It just doesn't cover the physical damage to the car and it is not much insurance.


The person who owns the vehicle has to know whether they purchased insurance which will cover other people driving their cars.

If you make a practice of allowing people to drive your car and you have a problem with frequency turning in accidents, then the insurance company can terminate the whole policy because of this.

You would need to have set up in business as a car trader whether self employed or limited.
If you are not selling vehicles than you need commercial vehicle cover which starting from scratch could cost £4000 plus for a modified specialist vehicle. having motor ttrader insurance is also expensive and may not cover things that are not cars and things owned by the business for its regular use. You may find that they have seperate insurance for this.

Try confused.com , mine used to be £738 with CIS now its £269 with confused.com
