Most pet insurance companies get bad reviews.
Embrace and PetPlan US are the only ones that I see good review levels for. (above 90%)

If your animal is healthy, then take the montly premiums. and put them into a savings account. (even if you are thinking you will eventually get insurance, start this NOW)

Most companies won't pay 100%, and will try to not pay all claims because of pre-existing, hereditary conditions, lost paperwork, etc....

If you decide to go with the insurance, be warned, read the contract carefully, and check reviews!

My cat has never been sick. Ever. She has had her regular shots and been spayed. The cost of pet insurance would be much more than what I've spent so far. My cat is 9 years old, so that would be a lot of premiums to pay.

Consider talking to your vet about it first. It wouldn't do any good to sign up for pet insurance if your vet didn't accept it. Sometimes a vet will be part of a network of care, so check it out that way first.
