Compare Auto Insurance Rates

Corey Said:

Any feedback on online auto insurance sites like http://www.onlineautoinsurance.com & http://www.insurance.com

i don't suggest buying your policy online for a few reasons. first, unless you really know what insurance limits you need and are very familiar with insurance you are likely going to be missing some coverage you need. i get a lot of people in my office who have bought policies online only to find out later they didn't have what they needed. second, its ALWAYS better to have a local agent. this way you have an actual human being to go to for help and represent you and inform you of what your policy actually entails. Its good to have the same person who is familiar with you and your policies when you need to file a claim or need to change anything on your policy, etc. third, most times when you quote online they are not running your credit or dmv reports so the quote you get may not be what your actual premiums come back as. call a local independent agent. they write for a lot of companies and can advise you on what best fits your needs and find you a good company with good rates.

auto insurance ?????????

If your 03 Durango has a loan, you have no choice but to buy full coverage period.

You can either go online and get several quotes, but make sure they offer the same coverage to compare or call an agent who handles many companies and they can quote you their best price.

collision pays for damages to YOUR car if in accident, regardless if at fault or not. (if loan have to have)

comprehensive pays for damages to YOUR car if hit by a deer, hail damage etc. (if loan have to have)

Liability pays for damages or injuries to OTHER car or driver/passenger if at fault This is usually required by law in most states.

Medical payments and or PIP, pays for your medical bills for the driver and any passengers in YOUR auto if injured. It pays regardless if you are at fault or not.

Uninsured coverage pays if OTHER GUY AT FAULT, but has no insurance. It pays for your injuries ie; hit/run

Underinsured coverage pays if OTHER GUY AT FAULT, has insurance but is not enough to pay, so YOUR coverage takes over.

Uninsured property damage pays if OTHER GUY at fault, has no insurance or hit/run. Pays for YOUR AUTO.

That is full coverage broken down. Most people elect to not have uninsured coverage and then get hit by a hit/run or has no insurance and get upset since maybe YOUR company cant help you. It also is a lot cheaper than the others which surprises most people.

Hope this helps, good luck
