Well, the problem is, you can't sign an application over the phone.

Your best bet is www.progressive.com, but you are going to have to list the address where the car is kept at night . . . so if you're going to be "not home" for the next month or so, you're going to have a problem.

This is a double edged sword. Online is definitely cheaper, but the companies that you can get online are "nonstandard" companies which mean that while you get a cheaper initial rate, they are going to surcharge the heck out of you if you get even one violation. Like progressive and Geico lure you in with low initial rates. It can get costly really fast with them. I think your best bet for getting a good coverage at a decent rate would be to check out an independent agent ( those are agents that write for different companies and not just one exclusively)

PS> the agents don't add fees to the policy. Whatever your premium is, the company gives the agent a percentage of that premium. So there are no added fees to the insured from the agency.

Don't waste your time calling an agent like some people on here have suggested. It's much better to compare quotes online and then call the company that offers you the cheapest quote. Honestly, I have found that Geico and Progressive are usually cheaper than most other companies. Since you have to have full coverage, insurance is definitely going to be more expensive no matter who you go with.

The best thing for you to do is to compare quotes from 3-5 different insurance companies to see who offers you the cheapest rate. The site below is really helpful because it allows you to compare quotes for all of the insurance companies in your area for free.
